Armed police closed Clapham High Street while a home suspected of being used as a brothel was raided.
Police executed a warrant at the property in the adjoining Edgeley Lane at about 7am on Saturday, January 13.
The road had to be closed when two men climbed onto the roof and had to be brought down with assistance from the London Fire Brigade.
A police helicopter was also at the scene.
Officers searched the home and found two guns and a large amount of cash.
The two men were arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm, and were taken to a south London police station.
A Met Police spokeswoman said the armed officers were there "as a precaution" and no shots were fired, and there have been no reported injuries.
