Aerial and Satellite Services have been in the satellite and aerial business for over 30 years, with Andrew Fairhurst having started out aged 16 as an audio bench engineer with Ron Leigh Audio Visual Ltd. There, he developed a special interest in signalling, taking on responsibility for aerial and satellite services.


To back up his extensive on-the-job experience, Andrew holds a full range of qualifications, including Technician Education Council (TEC) Levels 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in TV and audio theory and servicing (through the Wigan College of Technology), plus a Level 2 NVQ in Electrical and Electronic Servicing (Signal Reception), at the Manchester College (and certified by the University of Manchester). The latter qualification includes seven modules, all of which are evidence of Andrew’s competence in the field:


Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
Contributing to positive working relationships
Installing signal reception equipment in customers’ premises
Familiarising customers with the use of products
Working safely at heights with antennae
Diagnosing faults in signal reception systems
Replacing modules in signal reception systems
