CHORLEY boxer Michael Jennings has expressed his disappointment after being forced to pull out of Saturday’s British title eliminator against Gary McMillan because of a hand injury.
Jennings ruptured ligaments in a knuckle in his right hand on his last day of sparring last week and has been ruled out for four to six weeks.
The 33-year-old had been due to take on Scottish welterweight McMillan on Sky Sports in the main undercard bout ahead of Ricky Burns’ world title defence in Glasgow.
McMillan had cancelled his honeymoon to prepare, with both boxers now hoping to rearrange the bout.
“I’m gutted and it’s the story of my career, I just never seem to have any luck,” said Jennings.
