EVEN though it's coming up to the end of the football season, there's still a lot of action for the boys.

For the last couple of days, a team of Under-14/15 players have been competing in the Nike Cup at Warwick University - and done themselves proud against some of the biggest teams in the land.

The games are only 40 minutes long but it's a very good tournament for the boys to play and get experience in.

In the first game we beat Arsenal and, in the second, we had a great 3-0 win against West Ham.

That was followed by a goalless draw against Watford and then we beat Ipswich 1-0, which means we go into the quarter-finals later this afternoon.

It's a really big boost for the boys and it would be fantastic if we could win it.

The Under-18s have had a lean time of it in the last few weeks but that's to be expected with the amount of injuries we've had and the age of the team.

We've got a lot of young boys in the side but that's just something we have to live with.

Some of the lads are hoping for a good end to the season as they prepare for the Under-17 European Championships in Turkey.

Gavin Gunning and Aaron Doran and another lad Gearoid Morrissey, who will join us next season, will play for the Republic of Ireland and Bjorn Bussman will play for the Germans.

It'll be a fantastic experience for the boys to play in such a high profile tournament.
