DARWEN are up to joint second place in Lancashire League Division One after winning at previously unbeaten Norden.

Batting first, the hosts were skittled out for 88 with Kamran Anwar (3-21) and David Bowden (3-18) doing the damage.

In reply, Darwen reached their target for the loss of just two wickets – Siddhesh Lad top scoring with 24 with Reece Davies adding an unbeaten 23.

Burnley have joined Darwen on 39 points after an 89-run win at Todmorden.

Joe Marshall scored 91 in Burnley’s 144 all out total with Matthew Lamb (10) the only other player to reach double figures. Sub pro Gurinder Singh took a superb 7-28.

Tod closed on 55-9 from their allotted overs, Benjamin Hargreaves top scoring with 12 as Bharat Tripathi took 6-36.

Clitheroe secured a second win of the season at Colne.

Batting first, Colne were dismissed for 104 with Chris Walton (46no) and Lewis Rimmer (16) in the runs.

Thomas Lord top scored with 61 as Clitheroe reached their revised target for the loss of two wickets.

Ramsbottom slipped to a defeat in another rain-effected match at Middleton.

Batting first, Ramsbottom scored 194-5 with Kieran Grimshaw hitting 82 while Bradley Fielding scored 48.

In reply, James Price scored an unbeaten 57 as Middleton reached their revised target.

Crompton beat Rochdale by three wickets while Lowerhouse against Walsden was abandoned.

Just two games in Division Two survived the weather.

Haslingden enjoyed a 98-run victory over Great Harwood.

Connor Read and Alex Coleman both scored 42, with Samit Patel scoring 26 in Haslingden’s 181-9 total. Kasir Masood (4-37) and Paul Newton (3-38) took the wickets.

Patel then took 7-36 as Great Harwood were bowled out for 83 – Reece Willets top scoring with 31.

Littleborough beat Enfield by five wickets.

Enfield were bowled out for 132 with Adam Bracewell (25) and Tiarnan Hamill (22) both contributing.

Littleborough reached their target for the loss of five wickets.

The games between Accrington and East Lancs, Greenmount and Church, Nelson and Rawtenstall and Rishton and Bacup were all abandoned.
