JOE Pritchard said he was 'over the moon' to sign a contract extension at Accrington Stanley which will keep him at the club until 2023.

The 24-year-old signed for the Reds in May 2019 and his current deal ran out at the end of this season.

The former Tottenham and Bolton winger was delighted to put pen to paper on a new contract that keeps him at the Wham Stadium for another three years.

“This is a massive step in my career and I am absolutely over the moon," he told the club website.

“Last season, I was not starting every game but it’s what I needed in my career, I needed some appearances and I got plenty more than I expected last season.

“This year, I have really kicked on and feel like I have stepped into my shoes and am performing well for the club.

“I love it up here, I love the club, the people here have treated me really well and welcomed me into the club.

“The club is amazing and that’s one of the big reasons why I feel confident on the pitch and can perform.

“Signing a new deal is such a feel-good factor for me. I made my first appearance here and have gone up another level, the people at the club have appreciated that and rewarded me for it.

“It’s such a great feeling to feel wanted and I am so happy.”
