Rovers are moving closer to securing a loan move for Norwich City midfielder Tom Trybull.

Tony Mowbray revealed at this morning’s pre-match press conference that Rovers were hoping to bring in three players before the window closed.

Leeds United left back Barry Douglas and Middlesbrough goalkeeper Aynsley Pears were two of those deals, with Trybull understood to be the third.

Rovers have looked to add a central midfielder to their ranks all window, with Manchester United’s James Garner a target before he secured a move to Watford.

Lewis Travis is set to miss the remainder of 2020 with a knee injury, leaving Rovers an option light in the middle of the park.

And Rovers will boost that with the signing of the 27-year-old German.

Trybull started 14 times in the Premier League for Norwich last term, but hasn’t featured in any of their matchday squads this season and has been free to leave the club.

The midfielder started 22 matches in Norwich’s promotion from the Championship in 2018/19 and is under contract at the club for a further two years.

Trybull had a season with Den Haag in Holland having previously played all his football in Germany for Hansa Rostock, Werder Bremen, St Pauli and Greuther Furth.
