Police seeking two men in connection with a hotel brawl which saw seven people armed with machetes attack a separate group of men have now charged two more men with violent disorder. 

Officers were called at around 11.15pm on July 5 to a hotel on Queens Promenade, Blackpool, following reports of a public order incident.

When they arrived they discovered that a group of around seven men who were in possession of weapons, including machetes, had attacked another group of men before running from the scene.

Three people were taken to hospital for treatment but have since been discharged.

It is believed all parties involved are known to each other.

Following initial investigations, three men from Preston, one aged 17, one aged 18 and one aged 36, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

The 36-year-old - Patrick Gavin, of Leighton Street, Preston - was charged with violent disorder and appeared before Preston magistrates on July 22.

The other two males were released on bail.

On Monday, detectives investigating the incident released images of two more men they wanted to speak with and on Tuesday the men were arrested.

And following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Andrew Price, 26, of Leaway, Ince, Wigan, and Francis Michael Dinnigan, 25, of Leighton Street, Preston, were charged with violent disorder.

Both men were due to appear at Preston Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
