A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of accessing the personal accounts of one of his business clients.

On Wednesday morning, officers attended a house in the Croston area of Leyland in order to execute a search warrant in relation to Computer Misuse Act offences, and harassment.

A number of items were seized from the property by a cyber special officer.

A spokesperson for the police said: "A number of items have been seized from an address in the Croston area of Leyland, after the Lancashire Cyber Crime Unit and officers from the South Division executed a search warrant in relation to Computer Misuse Act offences, and harassment.

"The search took place on Wednesday morning and a cyber special was on hand to assist with the warrant and seizing of items.

"Cyber specials can offer high levels of technical expertise which can help bridge the gap between the police and the evolving cyber criminal.

"The warrant followed an investigation by police into allegations of unauthorised access to personal accounts of a business client.

"A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a Computer Misuse Act offences and harassment."
