No new coronavirus deaths have been reported from within any of Lancashire's hospitals over the last 24-hours, according to the latest round of figures.

The total number of deaths at Lancashire's hospitals remains at 987 throughout Lancashire's five hospital trusts.

It is the third time this week that no deaths have occurred after a patient tested positive for coronavirus.

East Lancashire Hospitals Trust has now recorded a full week without any coronavirus related deaths.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals also recorded its third consecutive day without a coronavirus death.

However, the figures do not include people in the community or in care homes who have also died from Covid- 19.

Five were confirmed to have died in figures released on Saturday.

These five fatalities came from three of Lancashire's five hospital trusts.

Of the five reported yesterday, two were reported within Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, which operates the Royal Preston Hospital.

This brought the trust's total deaths up to 241, with the first being recorded on March 22.

Two deaths were also recorded at Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals on June 25, taking their overall total up to 148 patients.

The only other recorded death in Lancashire took place at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, in which 167 people have now sadly passed away from the virus.
