TEN coronavirus deaths have been announced in Lancashire’s hospitals over the last 24 hours as the daily death toll begins to creep upwards once again.
The covid-19 death toll has risen by ten according to the latest NHS figures, bringing the county’s total hospital deaths figure to 1,058.
Of those, three fatalities were registered within the East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, which has now recorded at total of 219 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
According to the trust, which operates the Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General, one patient died on September 26, another on September 27 and the third on September 29.
Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust recorded the biggest rise in the country by announcing four fatalities have taken place in their hospitals.
A further three deaths were reported within the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation trust, where a total of 178 deaths have been reported.
