Greggs has reopened an East Lancashire branch as a click and collect shop after closing for months due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Locals will be able to order their favourite pasties and rolls - albeit from a reduced menu - online and collect them from the Burnley store from today.

Burnley residents can shop for their treats, select a time slot, pay online and pick up items at The Mall when they're ready.

The bakery chain recently introduced new safety measures to keep customers and colleagues safe at its stores, including letting only one adult at a time collect an order and floor markings to ensure social distancing.

As well as click and collect shops, Greggs can be ordered on the Just Eat app and delivered directly to homes across Burnley.

A Greggs spokesperson said: “We’re thrilled to introduce our Click and Collect service in Lancashire and along with the other shops we’ve reopened across the country and our partnership with Just Eat, we’re pleased to help bring a little taste of normal back to our local communities."

Elsewhere in the county, the Greggs store on St George Street in Preston has also reopened for click and collect orders.

Since April, the company has slowly began reopening its store for drive-thru and online deliveries.
