Two suspected drug dealers from Burnley have been arrested after biting a police officer on the hand during a search.
On Thursday night, officers stopped an Audi A3 which was speeding down Colne Road, before being pulled over on Westgate.
Officers from the Immediate Response Team suspected the occupants of the care were involved in the supply of Class A drugs and told the pair they were going to be searched.
Recalling the biting incident a Lancashire Police spokesperson said: "Whilst being searched one of the occupants tried to conceal items down his underwear before attempting to swallow items.
"When officers tried to intervene the male bit an officer on the hand, breaking the skin.
"On further inspection items related to drug dealing were seized along with nearly £3,000 in cash."
Both men were arrested for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, money laundering and assaulting an emergency worker.
The Audi was also seized as part of an ongoing investigation.
