A HEALTH and safety business is offering free advice on how to make workplaces safe for those going back.

Elite Force Safety is a Darwen health and safety training and consultancy business working in and around Blackburn and Darwen.

Run by Harold Floyd and Ami Rees, the couple’s company works on Harold’s military experience as a biological and chemical warfare instructor to advise and train workforces.

After being forced to halt their training and workshops since the lockdown started, they both decided to give back to the community and offer free advice to small businesses.

Mr Floyd said: “Ami came up with the idea to speak to people over the phone and offer them advice, and if people want me to come in and show them anything, then I can.

“We put together a special programme to show them what to do to stay safe.

“One of our clients was a bingo hall, they wanted to know how to bring people in and out safely, handle and exchange money, so I went in and showed them how to handle everything.”

The couple say many clients do not think about some things they may be required to do.

Taxi drivers have also called the team for advice.

Mr Floyd said: “One of the things people get wrong is the use of anti-bacterial hand creams.

“It’s useless if it does not have alcohol in it. It’s a waste of time because alcohol breaks the virus down but without it, it’s nothing.”
