Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked off his bike in a rush hour crash.

On Wednesday March 18 at around 8.35am, a motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a silver car close to the Britannia roundabout on Haslingden Old Road, Blackburn.

The man, 38, suffered a broken arm and wrist, and a fractured leg.

Police are now seeking the driver of the silver car to come forward after it failed to stop and made off from the scene.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was injured after being knocked off his bike in a Blackburn collision.

"It happened at around 8.35am last Wednesday on Haslingden Old Road close to the Britannia roundabout and also involved a silver car, which made off from the scene.

"The motorcycle rider, a 38-year-old local man, suffered a broken arm and wrist, as well as a fractured leg."

The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but was later discharged.

PC Rosie Lovett from Blackburn Police said: “If you know who was driving or you witnessed the incident, please come forward and speak to us.

“I would also like to appeal to the driver directly and urge them to search their conscience.

"A man has been badly injured and so I am asking them to do the right thing and make contact with us.”
