FIVE people have been taken to hospital after a crash.
Emergency services were called to Colne Road, Burnley shortly after 7pm following the crash between a blue Peugeot and a silver Vauxhall.
A fires service spokesman said one car was on fire but the casualties, two men and three women, were out of the vehicles when crews arrived.
A fire service spokesman said: "We were called to a collision involving two vehicles.
"Five casualties were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"One car was on fire when we got there but all of casualties were out of the vehicles.
"Two have been taken to urgent care in Burnley and three have been taken to Blackburn hospital.
"The police accident and investigation team are still at the scene."
A police spokesman said:" We were called to a car crash on Colne Road.
"There was an ambulance on the scene and one casualty had sustained a broken nose.
"One car was on fire and officers have asked for vehicle recovery."
