A fashion student's creations could soon be on sale in London and Hong Kong.

Alice Clarke, 17, has set up her own label and six of her designs, based on the 1960 Italian film, La Dolce Vita, are to go on sale in the spring.

Alice, a Burnley College student, has just got back from work experience with fashion company Chen Dao in Hong Kong.

She impressed bosses at Chen Dao so much that they offered her a job -- but for now she is concentrating on her own label, called Alice Casey.

Alice, of Todmorden, said: "I had a brilliant time and now I'm going to be selling some of my own designs over in Hong Kong. I started my own fashion label in March and six of my designs will go on sale in boutiques over there in spring.

"I saw an advert in International Design magazine which wanted students to go over and work in Hong Kong for the Chen Dao fashion company, so I got in contact and they offered me a placement.

"It was a great experience, Hong Kong is an amazing place and to gain some practical experience -- going to fashion shows and studios was invaluable --I'd definitely love to go over there again.

"Some of my designs might also be going on sale in London in summer which would be great."

Alice's tutor John West backed her to succeed.

He said: "Alice is a fantastic student. She is always challenging the boundaries of fashion and is very creative.

"She is enthusiastic and has great drive and really wants to succeed. She certainly has every chance and could fulfil her promise."
