Pendle Borough Chief Inspector Richard Debicki said: "A full and thorough investigation was launched following the stabbing.

"That investigation looked not only at the stabbing but also at a number of other incidents alleged to have taken place that evening. Ten people have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. I would like to reassure local communities that violent behaviour will not be tolerated in Barnoldswick or indeed anywhere in Pendle.

"Where there is clear evidence of offences, people will be put before the courts."
