A CHARITY has been honoured with a National Lottery blue plaque for its 'fantastic' work.
Lords House Farm, Rishton, caters for disabled and disadvantaged adults and children, and has received more than £185,000 of lottery cash to help its work.
Now lottery bosses have presented a plaque, in recognition of work which has helped the charity grow from a small voluntary organisation to a professional centre which helps more than 800 people a year through working with animals.
Mary Walker, chief executive of Lords House Farm, said: "We all get so much satisfaction from seeing benefits of the work we do here.
"The people who attend really do have their lives changed from contact with the animals and can learn a lot about themselves and the world around them through the activities we run. We are delighted to receive this plaque, it is a great way to acknowledge the hard work and effort by staff and volunteers."
Michelle McNamee, head of the North West region for the Big Lottery Fund, said: "Lords House Farm was a regional finalist in the National Lottery Awards this year and this National Lottery Blue Plaque is further recognition of the fantastic work it does."
