Seasiders' skipper Peter Clarke has warned his team mates that Saturday's home game against Tranmere has become a 'must win' match.

After Tuesday night's disappointing 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth -- a result which left stand-in boss Simon Grayson "gobsmacked" -- Clarke said: "The boys are a little bit down, we have just got thumped.

"The Tranmere match is now massively important. We have got to get three points."

Ironically Tommy Wright gave Blackpool the lead within five minutes but three goal James Hayter gave the Cherries the points -- and left Blackpool in the Division One relegation zone.

Defender Clarke, who conceded the penalty which completed Hayter's hat-trick, said: "It was very disappointing. We got ourselves in front and in a good position and then threw it away.

"We were not tight enough over the pitch all night. We have some work to do between now and the weekend."

But the skipper remained upbeat saying: "We have got to go into Saturday's game believing we can win. We can score goals. We have got to take chances."

The defeat was a blow to manager Simon Grayson who fielded a number of loan signings including former England winger Jason Wilcox who made his home debut.
