THE opening of a new Somerfield supermarket in Blackburn has been delayed because the garage forecourt was sinking.
The supermarket and petrol station on Preston New Road is now due to open next Wednesday.
A spokesman said: "We did plan to open but we realised there could be a safety issue with the cement. It wasn't the right mix and it was sinking."
Money-off vouchers sent out for the original opening will be honoured by the company.
