RETIREMENT should be less to do with age and more about how a person feels. Some are still fit at 70 while others may be less so at 50.

Also some jobs are harder than others.

Many employers consider you too old at 50. If you are looking for a job and or you're made redundant over the age of 50 it's known as early retirement.

Also what's the point in raising the retirement age when so many young people can't get jobs?

It's easier for someone who has a good job which they love but most people don't come into that category and can't wait to retire.

They want a quality retirement before they are too old to enjoy it and why not, when they have worked hard all their lives.?

I know pensions are costing money so we need to get the younger ones and drop outs etc., in work to help pay for them.

Everywhere you go there are cutbacks and short staffing because the fat cats don't want to pay more wages than they can get away with, which means more work for the ones already employed.
