A MAN who acted as a peacemaker in a melee outside a nightclub ended up in intensive care after he was attacked, a court heard.
Burnley magistrates were told how Jonathan Lee Wilmore's victim Stephen Marsden was left critically ill after the assault on August 27.
Wilmore, of Redness Close, Nelson, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm. He was committed on bail to the crown court for sentence.
He must live at his home address and was banned from licensed premises - which the chairman said would test him over the Christmas period.
Stephen Parker, prosecuting, said Mr Marsden had shaken hands with the defendant but was then punched in the side of the head outside Posh in Burnley.
He was taken to the intensive care unit but had now recovered.
