DETECTIVES have 'drawn a blank' in their investigation of a dramatic armed robbery at a Carnforth bank a year ago.

Detective Inspector Neil Esseen admits that despite a number of leads following the daylight robbery at Barclays in Market Street during the morning of August 2, 2004, there has been 'nothing concrete' for police to follow.

The robbery was re-enacted on BBC television's Crimewatch programme earlier this year in the hope of bringing fresh leads to the inquiry.

In the incident, a four-man gang, armed with guns threatened bank staff and warned off a passer-by as they raided the bank.

Police are still refusing to say how much cash the gand escaped with in the raid.
