BURNLEY today swooped to sign Manchester City striker Karl Bermingham on loan.
The Irish rookie, 19, has agreed an initial one-month loan deal at Turf Moor that could be extended, despite the new transfer window regulations coming into operation at the end of this month.
Bermingham was pulled out of the City reserve team squad on Tuesday night and could now feature for the Clarets second string as they start their Pontin's League campaign against Carlisle United at Accrington Stanley tonight, kick off 7pm.
The Dublin-born teenager has been a reserve team regular at City, scoring ten times last season and memorably adding four more in one game against bitter rivals Manchester United in a Senior Cup game last February.
Shortly after that he went on loan to Lincoln City, where he made two substitute appearances before returning to The City of Manchester Stadium after contracting a virus.
However, he has since made a full recovery to appear three times for City's first team this summer, scoring his first senior goal in the pre-season friendly against Sheffield Wednesday.
