HAPPY Mount Park's annual outdoor pantomime is under threat - after an objection to Lancaster City Council.

Limelight Productions are all set to stage Dick Whittington from next Monday (August 1) to Saturday, August 6.

They have applied for a public entertainment licence - but now a meeting tomorrow (Thursday) will decide if the show goes ahead.

The letter of objection to the council states that parking and noise levels are a major issue.

Panto organisers argue that the amplification system has been moved after previous noise problems and the council's environmental health service has no objections on the ground of noise.

Councillors will decide whether to grant the licence at a meeting at Lancaster Town Hall

If it is refused, Limelight Productions have the right of appeal to the magistrates' court, although that would be difficult with the panto due to start on Monday.
