A BURNLEY high school celebrated the success of students at a prize-giving ceremony.
John Tat, headteacher of St Theodore's, welcomed back former pupils, who left school in the summer after completing their A levels, before handing over to special guest, David Clayton, former headteacher of Habergham High School.
Speaking before the ceremony he said: "This evening is special because we publicly acknowledge the individual contribution made to the school through the academic success in GCSE and A level exams.
"This year we became the highest performing comprehensive school sixth form in Lancashire." Mr Tat said the evening was also an opportunity for former sixth formers, who went away to university in September, to come back to school, collect their certificates and meet up with friends.
As well as presenting students with their GCSE and exam certificates, more than 20 students were awarded special prizes for their academic achievements.
The vote of thanks was given by head boy, Vance Naughton.
