FOUR girls from East Lancashire Girl Rangers were providing a guard of honour for Princess Margaret when she went to see a gala performance of Sinbad the Sailor.
They were Helen Seed, from Burnley, Valerie Hampshire, from Blackburn, Yvonne Willis, from Darwen and Susan Johnson from Clitheroe.
And Nelson man Stanley Jeeves, 25, joined an expedition to Everest in search of the Yeti.
