COMMUNITIES in Pendle are being urged to make use of new computer centres.
Four new centres have been created in Nelson, Colne and Brierfield by the project, run by Northern Technologies and Pendle Community Network.
The aim is to create a place where people can go to learn and improve their computing skills as well as enjoying themselves.
Project co-ordinator, Sue Atherton, said the centres had brought technology to the heart of communities.
Her message to residents nearby was: "In a relaxed, friendly atmosphere you can surf the internet, develop yourself and have fun and, because the centres are situated near where you live, you won't have to travel far.
"These facilities are free and they are for you, so spread the word."
The four centres currently open are at St Luke's Church Hall, in Brierfield; the Sacred Heart Club 2000, in Colne; the UK Islamic Centre, in Nelson, and the Marsden Resource Centre, in Nelson.
