IT sounds strange, but I'm glad Millwall beat Telford last night.

When I looked at the draw and saw we had the winners of that tie I started thinking about when higher division teams play Conference sides they know nothing about.

It's a venture into the unknown but not an exciting one. You're nervous because none of you have played there before and you're in one of those tight little grounds where the fans can get on your back and the opposition really surprise you.

I suppose it used to be like that down at Millwall, but they're in the New Den now, which isn't nearly as intimidating.

A lot of Conference sides are full time now and they are professionally run. The days of them training two days a week and tiring out in the last 20 minutes are gone.

People still expect you to win because you have better quality players but Telford proved by beating Brentford and Crewe away in the last round that they are capable of pulling off a shock.

So it's a bit of a relief Millwall did the job for us last night.

It will be strange for them because they get through one cup game last night and almost straight away they have one on Saturday, which doesn't happen very often, so hopefully they haven't had much chance to prepare.

We, on the other hand, have known we're in the draw (even if all the mucking about has meant we didn't know when we'd be playing!) and have learnt to accept, whoever got through, to get on with it.

We have always known we're capable of beating whoever got through, which is why it turned out to be a good draw for us.

I know that everybody was looking to draw Manchester United but if we go to Old Trafford we probably know we're going out.

I know we'd have had a good day out but that would be the end of it, whereas now we have a chance of getting to the quarter-finals, something we didn't think we'd get again after going out at that stage last year.

We've had a few tough away games, like Mansfield, Chesterfield and Scunthorpe in cup games this season and come through them so we're looking to do the same again.

There is also a slight worry that all this FA talk might distract us from the league, but I feel its slightly different this year.

The problem last year was, we were in the FA Cup and safe in the league, but we knew we weren't going to make the play-offs either.

So the FA Cup was all or nothing and once we were out it hit us hard. We never thought we'd get a better chance than against Watford in the quarter-finals.

We blew it - but should we go out now we know we're not safe and know the league is everything.

We have another 12 or 13 cup finals left and we need to win four or five of them.

I'm glad to see the back of the Bucks
