A MAN found dead in a car park has been named as 44-years-old Elias Shaw of Leigh Road, Hindley Green.
Shortly after 8am on Sunday police were called to the Fisherman's Park area of Smiths Lane, Bickershaw after the body of a man was discovered by member of the public.
Accident investigators searched the scene and an investigation into the circumstances leading up to the man's death has been launched. It is believed he died late on Saturday. A post mortem examination showed he died of chest injuries.
A 21-year-old man from Wigan arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been bailed pending further enquiries.
