A TYLDESLEY bakery's potato and meat pies are the best in the North-west -- according to radio show listeners!
When 105.4 Century FM DJ Tony Wrighton asked his audience to nominate the best piemakers, he was inundated with calls... and pies!
And top of the pie-le were the ever popular, value-for-money offerings from the family bakery at the bottom of Shuttle Street.
Tony launched his search during his popular drive time show and was impressed with how passionate people are about their pies! "We had a fantastic response to the phone-in. I never knew pies were such a hot topic!
"We were inundated with pies at the studio and the answer to that all important question, 'who ate all the pies?', well, that'd have to be me!
"Dawsons' potato and meat pies were clear winners of the competition.
"Despite reservations about the 'potato' coming before the 'meat' in the title, so many people have called to insist on their quality. A true and worthy winner."
