AFTER 26 years in the same house, Stephen and Audrey Keryk decided it was finally time to leave.

And they are doing it in style by inviting a Canary Wharf-based property expert, a film crew and a team of designers and labourers to help.

The Keryks and their adventure are to feature on Channel Four property series, 'Selling Houses.'

Each programme looks at a couple or family who are having difficulty selling their home. The property is inspected by expert Andrew Winter who decides what improvements need to be made, before the house is 'made over' in an effort to secure a quick sale.

Stephen said: "We were contacted by the estate agents who said we could feature on this programme and we thought it was great idea." Filming started on Saturday and the Keryks are having to sacrifice their creature comforts for the good of the show.

Child minder Audrey, said: "They've taken every settee out of the house so we're having to resort to the dining room chairs.

"But I think we might be painting them tomorrow so God knows what we're going to do then!" The rules of the show mean that the Keryks have no say over what changes are made to the house, so they have to put their faith in their London property expert.

Audrey added: "Obviously there is a lot of sentimental value in the house we've lived in for so long, but so far, we've been very happy with all the changes."

Televised viewing of the house in Whalley New Road, Blackburn, is scheduled for Saturday.

A spokesman for production company Ricochet South said anyone in the market for a three-bedroom terrace house in the Brownhill area - who doesn't mind appearing on television - should call Nigel Ellison at Your Move on 01254 55425 for a chance to feature in the programme.
