CHATTERBOX Keeley Talbot set herself a tough task to help cancer sufferers.
She organised a sponsored silence with schoolfriends to raise funds for Marie Curie nurses.
Twelve-years-old Keeley, of Naunton Avenue, Lowton, a pupil at Lowton High, is following in the fund-raising footsteps of her mum, Amanda, who started the ball rolling last year.
District nurse Amanda and colleague Julie Hand, who are both based at the Grasmere Health Centre, Leigh, completed a zip-fly across the Old Trafford ground which raised £500 for the charity.
Amanda said: "Keeley had the idea herself and has done all the organising. I am quite impressed because like me she can talk for England and found staying silent very difficult.
"The girls stayed mum at school from 9am to 3.15pm and took their ordinary lessons, communicating by writing on white boards."
The girls who took part in the event with Keelie were Vicky Ainscough, Rachel Loynd, Melissa Hughes, Alyssa Jones and Rachel Hayman.
The girls all wore Marie Curie Cancer Care t-shirts and sold the charity's flowers.
