BURY BOYS U-15...2

WARR'TN BOYS U-15...3

BURY Boys gifted Warrington three points in a game they certainly should not have lost. The result unfortunately leaves Bury on bottom spot below Warrington, with only two league matches left.

All seemed well in the first half, with Bury playing some good football, and the defence comfortably managing the Warrington attack. Even better, following an excellent move and pinpoint cross from Jonathan Hazeldine (Tottington), Chris Rea (Woodhey) finished in style. A clean sheet at half-time was not only unusual but also encouraging.

After only three minutes of the second half, Warrington drew level, but to their credit, Bury fought back well and missed several chances before Matthew Price (Elton) forced the ball home under the 'keeper after an hour of play.

Again the team seemed comfortable and David Campbell (Bury Church) was having a fine game in goal despite a damaged hand. However, after some slack defending on the edge of the penalty area, the ball broke to the right and Warrington lobbed home an equaliser.

A point at least seemed certain as Bury went searching for a winner. With three minutes left, disaster struck with Bury failing to clear the ball on at least three attempts, and Warrington squeezing in an unlikely winner. On this occasion it was cruel luck for Bury who worked hard to get a result.

Tomorrow, Bury take on Salford away in a MEN league match, kick-off 10am.
