STRUGGLING Bradford Park Avenue put a brake on Lancaster City's reviving fortunes.

After a superb win over Unibond high-fliers Harrogate at the weekend, the Giant Axe faithful turned out in numbers for a goal rush against lowly Bradford on Tuesday night.

But the goals all came at the wrong end in a sickening second half for Phil Wilson's team.

A win would have seen the Dolly Blues move into the division's top 10 for the first time this season - now they are still languishing outside that elusive place in the top half of the table.

Bradford were without a win in six games as the game kicked off on Tuesday and it was easy to see why as City raced out of the blocks and took an early lead.

Neil Prince broke the deadlock as he volleyed in at the far post following a driving run and cross from the right by midfielder Tony Sullivan.

However, that was just about all the Blues had to shout about as they failed to mount any real pressure on their visitors.

In fact it was Bradford who grew visibly in confidence as Lancaster lost their way.

Carl Serrant saw his shot rebound to safety from the City post on the half hour.

And the second half belonged to Bradford as they clearly saw City were there for the taking - and did not need asking twice.

Andy Hayward levelled the scores on 54 minutes as he met a Wayne Bullimore cross at the near post. And he notched his second 12 minutes later after a pass from Andy Quinn.

Phil Wilson sent on three substitutes in a bid to liven up his lacklustre side but it made little difference - Jason Maxwell adding the killer third for Bradford in the 78th minute.
