THREE anti-social tenants have been evicted by Bury Council for making neighbours' lives a misery.

Stephen Acheampong, of George Road, Ramsbottom, was evicted for causing numerous problems such as noise, damaging his property and general anti-social behaviour.

Bobbi Jo Acheampong, of Townside Row, Bury, was evicted for noise, verbal abuse of her neighbours, arguments with people living in her flat and using foul language.

Lean Pilling, of Chestnut Avenue, Bury, was ordered from her home because of late-night parties, heavy drinking, banging doors, loud music and fighting and arguing in and around the property.

The council has also secured an injunction against a tenant in Bury requiring him to get rid of several dogs which have been causing a nuisance to neighbours by fouling the communal area of the block of flats.

The legal action was taken by the council's housing services team and the cases were heard at Bury County Court.

Following the hearings, Councillor Tim Chamberlain, Bury Council's executive member for regeneration and housing, said: "The action we have taken shows that we are serious about tackling anti-social behaviour. We will not hesitate to use the full range of powers available to us to ensure that the law abiding majority of our tenants can live peacefully and safely.

"Any tenants who are experiencing anti-social behaviour or nuisance from neighbours should in the first instance contact their Community Housing Officer. They will then advise them on the best course of action and will work with them to resolve the problem"
