Simon Lynch hit the back of the net as he returned to action for North End, a week after completing his loan spell at Stockport County.
Playing in the reserves, he put North End ahead on 30 minutes with a sweet turn past the Stoke City keeper.
Stoke equalised through Chris Iwelumo - a former North End trialist - on 71 minutes.
Brian O'Neil played the first half and Craig Burley completed his second 90-minutes of match action for North End.
The game was played at Bamber Bridge's Irongate ground.
