In recent weeks East Lancashire has certainly had its fair share of heavy rain.
And we are constantly hearing stories about how climate change means that will will have to get used to more incidents of extreme weather.
But actually they are nothing new as these pictures from the archive demonstrate.
Throughout the Sixties, East Lancashire would be hit by major downpours which would lead to extensive flooding.
These events were short lived but brought with them plenty of disruption when they occurred.
Perhaps you remember some of the. If you have any photos of flooding in years gone by then we’d love top share them with Looking Back readers.
