A production company is seeking extra funds to help finish a forthcoming crime drama film set in the Ribble Valley.
Feature film ‘Reputation’ was shot in Lancashire in October and is made up of a Northern cast for his film set in the scenic Ribble Valley.
Filmmaker Martin Law is now hoping to raise extra funds to 'help make the film the best it can be', with money going towards an extra day of filming, as well as to help with post-production costs, marketing and festival fees.
He said: “There are very few funding opportunities in the UK, so crowdfunding is the best option for a film like this.
"Reputation is a proudly Northern film, and I believe audiences will respond to it.
"If anyone can help support the film, that would be much appreciated.”
Reputation is a psychological crime drama set in the fictional Northern town of Dennings.
The synopsis includes an intimate look at loyalty, greed and power in 'broken Britain'.
Influences on this completely independent and psychological crime drama include 'Dead Man’s Shoes', 'Gomorrah', 'Shooters' and 'Shifty'.
The film stars James Nelson-Joyce (A Thousand Blows) and Kyle Rowe (The Devil's Hour), and is currently in post-production, set for release later in the year.
'Reputation' has been over 10 years in the making and the script was 'nurtured organically', ready to be made on a "nano budget".
With the script described as "raw, violent and darkly comic", this will be the feature film debut of the produced in 2023.
Filming locations included Great Harwood, Clayton-le-Moors and Burnley.
Speaking on why he wanted Northern actors, Martin, the Preston-based filmmaker said: "I want this film to be as authentic as possible.
"There have been so many examples of northern characters in films or TV shows portrayed by middle-class actors from London.
“Not many feature films are made in Lancashire, full stop. I believe that undiscovered talent is out there."
The Lancashire-based production company Factory Noir held casting calls for the low-budget feature movie last year.
Donations can be made via the 'Reputation - Feature Film' Greenlit crowdfunding page.
A total of £625 has been raised so far, with a goal of reaching £7,000.
