A car driver ‘failed to stop’ after a motorcyclist suffered ‘fractured bones’ in a crash.

Police closed Rivington Road in Belmont last night (June 7) after a crash between a car and a motorbike.

Officers said the driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and the motorcyclist suffered several injuries, including potentially fractured bones.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “The motorcyclist suffered injuries including possible fractured bones.

“The driver of the car failed to stop.

“Enquiries are very much ongoing and anybody with information should call 101, quoting log 1490 of June 7.”

Officers announced the road was back open at 5.30am and thanked motorists for their patience.
