Police have issued a CCTV image of a topless man after a train conductor was assaulted.

The incident happened on Saturday April 1 at Blackburn station.

At around 3.30pm a train conductor approached two men during a routine ticket inspection. 

One of the men became aggressive, punching the conductor in the face.

When leaving the train at Blackburn the man then attempted to fight the conductor before being led away by his friend.

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "British Transport Police are today issuing a CCTV image after a train conductor was assaulted.

"The incident happened at around 3.30pm on Saturday April 1 when the train conductor approached two men during a routine ticket inspection.

"One of the men became aggressive towards the conductor, punching him in the face.

"On leaving the train at Blackburn he attempted to fight the conductor before being led away by his friend.

"Officers believe the person in the image may have information that could help their investigation."
