Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe is connected to a theft involving an elderly woman.

At around 2.30pm on February 22, a woman in her 70s tried to withdraw money from a cash machine in Hough Lane.

Police say she was distracted and money was then stolen.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Do you recognise this man? We want to speak to him in connection with a theft in Leyland.

“At around 2.30pm on February 22, a woman in her 70s was attempting to make a withdraw from a cash machine in Hough Lane when she was distracted and money taken.

“It is believed the man in the CCTV image has information to help with our enquiries.

“This incident happened in February. Enquiries have been ongoing since then to trace the offender and now we are asking for your help.
