A Lancashire hotel, that closed suddenly and cancelled weddings meant to take place there, is set to reopen under new management.

Charnock Richard’s Park Hall Hotel unexpectedly announced that it was closing its doors in February 2022.

At the time, a sign was left on the hotel’s gates that said “from now until further notice the hotel is closed”.

The announcement caused devastation for dozens of couples who had weddings booked at the venue.

The hotel never reopened despite speculation that it was going to be used as accommodation for asylum seekers.

Now it has been confirmed that the hotel on Park Hall Road is going to reopened by Brilliant Hotels.

It is not yet known exactly when it will reopen but job applications for the hotel have been advertised.

Brilliant Hotels’ director, Anoob Saban, said the venue has huge potential.

He said: “Brilliant Hotels has the experience in taking over the closed or run down hotels and investing in the property and bringing it to its glory.

“We currently own and operate six hotels.

“Park Hall Hotel in Chorley has huge potential and with investment this can become a resort that can drive both business and leisure customers to the area.”

Mr Saban said staff are currently carrying out safety checks on the site.

He said: “We are doing some compliance checks as safety of guests and staff is the top priority for Brilliant Hotels, as soon as this is completed we will open the hotel in phases.

“The main building with 56 rooms, restaurant, bar and two banqueting halls are in good standard. However it will take three to six months to reopen the leisure club and cottages.”

Mr Saban said they plan on giving the hotel a “new lease of life”.

He said: “Over the next two years, all our efforts and focus will be at this hotel to make it a resort-themed vacation club.

“Plans include improving the leisure club and adding more treatment rooms and possibly an amusement or arcade and other entertainment to cater to the families.”

Mr Saban said the business will be working closely with the local community and create new jobs for the area.

He said: “All our hotels work closely with the local community and we aim towards making our hotels a hub for the local community to meet, dine and enjoy the facilities.

“I understand from some old news that the local residents are upset the way the hotel was run but we believe in working closely with local community and the authorities to drive business to the area and improve the local economy.

“We are also aiming to create more than jobs to start with and will increase when more facilities are added to the site.

“We also hope to get involved in all community initiatives and charities. Currently we work with GiftTree, Charity Escapes and Beyond the moon charity organisations.

“We are very much looking forward to reopening this hotel and making this hotel a 'destination’.”

Brilliant Hotels is looking for staff members to work at the hotel once it has reopened. Job applications can be found on Indeed.
