A person was rushed to hospital after being stuck between a vehicle and a concrete ledge.

At around 10.30am this morning (March 31), firefighters were called to rescue a person who was stuck on Glamis Road in Leyland.

Crews rescued the person using Holmatro spreaders, a high-pressure air bag and a step block to cut the person free.

The person was then taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “One fire engine from Leyland attended a rescue incident on Glamis Road in Leyland.

“On arrival, firefighters rescued one casualty who was trapped between a vehicle and a concrete ledge.

“Firefighters used Holmatro spreaders, a high-pressure air bag and a step block to extricate the casualty, who was then conveyed to hospital via North West Ambulance Service.

“Crews remained in attendance for approximately 30 minutes.”

North West Ambulance Service have been approached for a comment.
