Tickets are on sale for Shakespeare’s Macbeth which is showing in Accrington this weekend.

The show will take place at Oswaldtwistle Civic Arts Centre and Theatre on Sunday, March 5.

The new production is performed by London-based Quantum Theatre who are touring nationally with an imaginative and engaging new productions of classic texts and Shakespeare plays.

Adapted and directed by artistic director, Michael Whitmore the play is performed in an easily accessible style that informs the audience of Shakespeare’s darkest of tales of ambition and dreadful consequences.

Macbeth is a regular feature on most GCSE curriculums and is taught by most primary schools in Year 6.

Gayle Knight, creative director at the Civic Arts Centre and Theatre, said: “Watching a play performed is 100 times better that reading it, particularly when Shakespeare is involved, as it helps give a greater understanding of the text. This production is a must for anyone studying it this year.”
