A TikTok star from East Lancashire is spreading some festive cheer and giving away a PlayStation 5 console to one lucky person.

The Darwen-born star, known as Max Balegde on the video sharing app, said he purchased the console while “hungover” at an airport in a foreign country, not knowing his boyfriend had already bought him one for Christmas.

Max, who has three million followers on TikTok, is now giving the console away to one of his fans.

Speaking on Instagram he said: “I am giving away a PS5. I know that sounds weird and it’s because it is. Merry Christmas.

“I was recently hungover and probably still drunk in an airport.

“I decided to treat myself, which I never do, and I spent a lot of money on a PlayStation 5 because they are hard to get and there was one right in front of me.

“I felt like it was fate in the moment. I bought it and instantly regretted it.

“I get on that plane, land in the UK, and text my boyfriend saying ‘I’ve randomly bought a PS5’.

“He told me to return it right away…turns out he bought me one for Christmas.

“It’s quite a sad coincidence but I thought let’s make something happy out of this.

“It’s Christmas, there is a cost of living crisis, not many people can afford a PS5 so I will give it away to one of you lot.

“Good luck I hope you get it.”

Those hoping to bag the prize must follow Max on Instagram, share the post to their Instagram story and tag Max in it.

You must also leave a comment explaining why you deserve the PS5.

The winner will be announced on Christmas Day.

Max, whose first job was working in a Darwen fish and chip shop, found fame on TikTok in 2020.

He has since worked with major brands including Jack Wills, JD and Pretty Little Thing.

He recently launched The Useless Hotline Podcast with another TikTok star, George Clarke.

In the podcast the duo discuss their life stories and answer problems and dilemmas from the public.

According to uk-podcasts.co.uk it is currently the 12th most listened to podcast in the UK this week.
