A MOTHER-of-two appealing against a suspended jail term and a long ban imposed after she smashed into a car whilst drunk,' could be successful.

Sarah Walton , 27, did not turn up to Burnley Crown Court to hear her appeal and did not have lawyers. But a barrister stepped in to represent her and she has been given another chance to attend.

Judge Andrew Woolman adjourned the case part-heard.

The appellant, of Spring Street, Rishton, had earlier been convicted of driving whilst unfit, failing to stop, failing to report an accident, and having no licence and no insurance.
