Chorley Library is to host a Dyslexia Awareness day this month.

Representatives from Lancashire Parent Partnership and Centra - a new local dyslexia support centre - will be on hand to offer advice and information.

There will also be a chance to look at the resources available in the library, such as specialist reading books and support materials.

This is the first in a series of health and wellbeing events which will be hosted by the library during 2008.

Divisional librarian Denis Whitham said "We want to encourage everyone to make use of their local library in this National Year of Reading.

"This event highlights the wide range of resources we have to support every aspect of literacy and reading."

The event takes place on Saturday, January 19.
