THE driver of a Range Rover failed a drug test after refusing to stop for police.

Officers from the police dog unit and road police arrested the man in Accrington on Tuesday night (May 18).

The driver of the car had originally failed to stop for police, who were then forced to use a stinger device to puncture its tyres.

The suspect then got out of the Range Rover and found a hiding place under a nearby caravan.

However he was soon found and arrested.

A police spokesman said: “Range Rover Sport failed to stop for Lancashire Police Dog Unit in Accrington.

“Tactical operations officers stung the vehicle before the driver decamped. He was found hiding in a caravan and arrested. It turns out he’s a disqualified driver and failed a drug wipe for cocaine.”
